Egyptian Health Department Reports 1 White County COVID Death; 11 New Cases Wednesday

Egyptian Health Department was notified of a White County resident who has passed away due to complications of Coronavirus (COVID-19). The Egyptian Health Department is saddened by this news and their thoughts are with the family.

 

Egyptian Health Department was notified on Wednesday of 11 Southeastern Illinois residents who have tested positive for Coronavirus (COVID-19). The individuals include:

 

  • Saline County
    • 2 females in their 20’s
    • 3 males in their 20’s
    • 1 female in her 30’s
    • 3 females in their 50’s
    • 1 female in her 80’s

 

  • White County
    • 1 male in his 20’s

 

To date, Saline County has had a total of 2,601 lab confirmed positives, including 53 deaths, 2,501 have recovered, White County has had a total of 1,754 lab-confirmed positives, including 27 deaths, 1,698 have recovered, and Gallatin County has a total of 496 lab-confirmed positives of COVID-19, including 3 deaths, 487 have recovered. The Illinois Department of Public Health, their healthcare provider, and the individuals have all been notified and are monitoring the situation.

To help slow the spread of COVID-19 in our communities, please answer your phone. Contact Tracers may be calling you to let you know that you have been exposed to a confirmed COVID-19 positive. Remember to maintain physical distancing of 6 feet or more at all times.
If you have been tested for COVID-19, please remember that you have to isolate at home until you have received your test results. Please note: If you have received results for a COVID-19 Rapid Test– ???????????????????????????????? or ????????????????????????????????– you should still ???????????????????????????? until you receive your lab-confirmed results. IDPH announced that Illinois had a total of 3,790 new confirmed cases and 28 additional deaths. Bringing the total of 1,265,457 confirmed cases and 21,423 deaths in Illinois.
