Egyptian Health Department Reports 1 Saline County Death; 37 New COVID-19 Cases Thursday

Egyptian Health Department was notified of a Saline County Resident who has passed away due to complications of Coronavirus (COVID-19). The Egyptian Health Department is saddened by this news and their thoughts are with the family.

Egyptian Health Department was notified on Thursday, of 37 Southeastern Illinois residents who have tested positive for Coronavirus (COVID-19). The individuals include:

• Saline County (25)
  • 1 female in her teens
  • 2 males in their teens
  • 4 females in their 20’s
  • 1 male in his 20’s
  • 1 male in his 30’s
  • 2 females in their 40’s
  • 3 males in their 50’s
  • 1 female in her 60’s
  • 6 females; age demographics unknown- case status in progress
  • 4 males; age demographics unknown-case status in progress

• White County (12)
  • 2 females in their teens
  • 2 males in their teens
  • 2 females in their 30’s
  • 2 females in their 50’s
  • 1 males in his 50’s
  • 1 female in her 60’s
  • 2 females in their 80’s

To date, Saline County has had a total of 2,209 lab confirmed positives, including 39 deaths, 1,063 have recovered, White County has had a total of 1,463 lab-confirmed positives, including 23 deaths, 629 have recovered,  and Gallatin County has a total of 433 lab-confirmed positives of COVID-19, including 3 deaths, 237 have recovered. The Illinois Department of Public Health, their healthcare provider, and the individuals have all been notified and are monitoring the situation.
