From Egyptian Health Department…
As of 4:00PM today, Friday, April 3, 2020, Egyptian Health Department has not been notified of any new cases of COVID-19 in our tri-county area of Saline, Gallatin and White Counties. Saline County is currently the only county in our service area that has had a confirmed COVID-19 case.
In the IDPH Daily Briefing, Dr. Ngozi Ezike stated that Illinois has 1,209 new confirmed cases and 53 deaths. Bringing the total to 8,904 confirmed cases and 210 deaths in Illinois.
To date, there have been 80 tests with results reported in our tri-county area. EHD cannot speculate at this time on the number of tests pending as healthcare providers are utilizing private labs and EHD is only notified with the results of those tests. Test results can take anywhere from 2-7 days to receive from the private labs.
PLEASE NOTE, per Illinois Department of Public Health:
1. There are likely a large number of cases with no symptoms in each community that have not been confirmed by a test.
2. Many people who are ill may not have been tested yet.
3. Many who have tested positive are no longer contagious.
As announced in todays Press Conference, the science is showing that Illinois is not at the peak of this pandemic so it is important for all residents to follow the Executive Orders and all IDPH Guidance set forth. We all have to own our actions right now— all of us. You are putting not just yourself, your family and your friends in danger, but also strangers you come in contact with – someone’s parent or child – someone’s spouse or loved one.
*EHD will be conducting contact tracing for any confirmed case of COVID-19. Any potential exposed individual will be contacted by EHD to discuss exposure and necessary precautions including self monitoring and possible quarantining.
