Egyptian Health Department Announces 30 New COVID-19 Cases Tuesday

Egyptian Health Department was notified, on Tuesday, of 30 Southeastern Illinois residents who have tested positive for Coronavirus (COVID-19). The individuals include:

 

  • Saline County (19)
    • 1 female under the age of 5
    • 1 female in her teens
    • 2 males in their teens
    • 2 females in their 20’s
    • 2 males in their 20’s
    • 2 males in their 30’s
    • 2 females in their 40’s
    • 3 males in their 50’s
    • 1 female in her 60’s
    • 2 males in their 60’s
    • 1 female in her 80’s

 

  • Gallatin County (3)
    • 1 female in her teens
    • 1 female in her 60’s
    • 1 male in his 60’s

 

  • White County (8)
    • 1 male under the age of 10
    • 2 females in their teens
    • 2 females in their 40’s
    • 1 male in his 40’s
    • 1 female in her 70’s
    • 1 male in his 70’s

 

To date, Saline County has had a total of 1,025 lab confirmed positives, including 20 deaths, 444 have recovered,  White County has had a total of 481 lab-confirmed positives, including 9 deaths, 218 have recovered, and Gallatin County has a total of 192 lab-confirmed positives of COVID-19, including 2 deaths, 103 have recovered. The Illinois Department of Public Health, their healthcare provider, and the individuals have all been notified and are monitoring the situation.

As cases increase, the number of close contacts increases for individuals who need to be quarantined for a minimum of 14 days. To help slow the spread of COVID-19 in our communities, please answer your phone. Contact Tracers may be calling you to let you know that you have been exposed to a confirmed COVID-19 positive. Remember to maintain physical distancing of 6 feet or more at all times.
If you have been tested for COVID-19, please remember that you have to isolate at home until you have received your test results. Please note: If you have received results for a COVID-19 Rapid Test– ???????????????? or ????????????????– you should still ?????????????? until you receive your lab-confirmed results. IDPH recommends, over the next three weeks, stay home as much as possible, leaving only for necessary and essential activities, such as work that must be performed outside the home, COVID-19 testing, visiting the pharmacy, and buying groceries.

IDPH announced that Illinois has 12,601 new confirmed cases of COVID-19 and 97 additional deaths. Bringing the total to 597,849 confirmed cases and 10,875 deaths in Illinois.
