Domestic Violence Reported

An alleged domestic violence incident occurred just after 6 PM Wednesday, according to the White County Sheriff’s Department.

Deputy Michael Brown of the Sheriff’s Department assisted the Carmi Police Department and responded to a 9-1-1 call at 203 6th Street, Apr. B.  He spoke with a woman who said she was beat up.

While she was being checked out by White County medical personnel, Brown was advised by Dispatch that when the female called in, there was a male voice in the background.  It was thought to be Timothy L. Roberts, 52, of 201.5 6th Street in Carmi, who was wanted on a White County Arrest Warrant for Petition to Revoke.

The Deputy asked if he could look inside to see if it was Roberts and she agreed.  After entering the residence, he discovered a white male sitting on the couch, who identified himself as Roberts.

Timothy Roberts, who was visibly upset, walked outside with the deputy. Roberts was handcuffed, advised of his bond which was $500, and transported to the White County Jail, where he is being held at this time.

At a quarter after noon on Tuesday, 33 year old Stefan Shepler of Carmi  reported the theft of a white and blue 1998 Ford F8100 boom truck, saying it was stolen from Reeves Oil Lease of 2454 County Road 2125 East in Grayville.  After running the VIN number and verifying it was the vehicle, Shepler was asked to sign a complaint for theft of over $500.

The boom truck has no distinguishing markings and there is no idea where it’s headed.

And 61 year old Matha K. Magers of Norris City reported on Wednesday afternoon that someone drove through her field at 921 County Road 300 East on a motorcycle, damaging her corn field.  She said on Monday night she heard motorcycles driving around which she said was not uncommon.  She went outside on Tuesday and noticed her field corn had been damaged by the motorcycles.  Magers said there were only 25 corn stalks knocked over, but she wanted to report the damage.  A report of Criminal Damage to Property was filed with the Sheriff’s office.
