A domestic altercation lead to a couple of arrests Thursday afternoon. Just after noon Thursday, Carmi Police were dispatched to the 100 block of 10th Street in Carmi for a reported break-in. Upon arrival, officers met with Jeffrey W. Sturgal, 58, and Katelyn E. R. Welch, 24, who were in a verbal altercation. Once separated it was discovered both had injuries caused by one another. After a brief investigation, both Jeffrey and Katelyn were arrested and charged with Domestic Battery. Both were transported to the White County Jail and both bonded out to $300 cash.
