The Carmi-White County baseball and softball teams defeated Edwards County on the road yesterday, baseball winning 5-4 and softball winning 21-7.

EC held that lead until the top of the 5th inning when Mason tripled down the right field line, scoring Landon Driscoll and getting the Dogs within 1.

Carmi was able to tie the game in the top of the 6th inning on a solo home run by Caleb Seibers, his 3rd of the season.

It was all knotted up at 3-3 heading into the top of the 7th inning, but an RBI double by Mason and an RBI single by Cade Allen put the Bulldogs ahead 5-3 heading into the bottom of the 7th.

The Lions answered with a solo home run to lead off the 7th to cut the Bulldog lead to 5-4, but with the tying run on 1st base, Mason was able to strike out the side to clinch the win for the maroon and white.
