A Carmi man with a lengthy record is back behind bars on some of the most serious charges yet. Carmi Police arrested 37-year-old Dylan Desper just before midnight Thursday after a pursuit that ended at the corner of Sycamore and 8th Street. Once officers were able to pull Desper over, the report details a half dozen new charges, half of them felony counts to go along with a Tazewell County felony warrant arrest. Among the new charges Possession of Meth with Intent to Deliver, Possession of Meth, and Unlawful Use of Property. Desper is also facing misdemeanor charges of Possession of Drug Paraphernalia, Driving while License Suspended or Revoked, and Fleeing or Attempting to Elude Police. The Tazewell County warrant is in relation to charges of Unlawful Use of a Weapon, Possession of a Stolen Firearm, and Burglary. Desper remains behind bars in the White County Jail.
