A bad wreck had traffic rerouting outside Crossville for five hours Monday. According to Illinois State Police, the crash happened just before 9:30am on Highway 1 a mile south of Crossville. The head on crash involved a truck/tractor semi-trailer and a Jeep. The driver of the Jeep was taken by medical helicopter to an area hospital with life threatening injuries. The roadway opened just before 2:30pm and was closed so officers could investigate the cause of the crash.
