Cowling Sentenced to 15 Years in IDOC in Edwards County Court Thursday

58-year old Barry L. Cowling of Albion, Illinois, was sentenced on April 9, 2020 to a total of 15-years in the Illinois Department of Corrections followed by a term of 3-years of Mandatory Supervised Release (formerly known as “parole”) for Unlawful Possession of Methamphetamine and a term of 10-years in the Illinois Department of Corrections followed by a term of 2-years of Mandatory Supervised Release (formerly known as “parole”) for Unlawful Possession of a Weapon by a Felon in Edwards County Case No. 2018-CF-63. Those two sentences were ordered to run concurrently. Edwards County State’s Attorney Eric A. St Ledger prosecuted the case on behalf of the People of the State of Illinois and defense attorney, William Hoffeditz, represented the defendant, Barry L. Cowling. The case was investigated by the Edwards County Sheriff’s Department.
