Covid Numbers Released

After a big number of COVID-19 cases being reported over the holiday weekend, the Egyptian Health Department has announced more fresh cases. Also, the health department says both Saline and a resident of White County have passed away due to complications originating with their COVID-19 diagnosis. Saline County added 37 new cases for the 24 hour period between Monday, September 6th and 4 pm Tuesday, September 7th. White County added 34 new cases and 7 Gallatin County residents have tested positive.

Deaconess is continuing to report they are at near capacity with 152 hospitalized in their COVID wing. 135 of those beds are filled with people who aren’t vaccinated. 50 of the 52 individuals in the ICU aren’t vaccinated. Concerns about care continue with exhausted health professionals, a lack of space with the surge of cases since school resumed.

The Illinois Emergency Management agency is going to be set up at the McLeansboro Fall Festival. Officials will be offering the Pfizer vaccine to anyone age 12 and over and the Johnson and Johnson vaccine to anyone age 18 and over from 11am-7pm in the Hamilton County Courthouse basement.

Hamilton County’s Health Department announced 54 lab confirmed positive cases of COVID-19 yesterday afternoon. The cases are from September 3rd through the 7th.  33% of those cases are teenagers and younger.
