Covid Numbers Continue to Increase
While Illinois Governor Pritzker and Republican legislators continue to debate the state’s recent mask mandates, Covid 19 cases continue to climb in Southern Illinois.
Thursday, the Egyptian Health Department reported a total of 34 new cases of the virus, with Saline County showing the biggest increase, reporting 26 of those 34 cases.
The Saline County cases include a female under the age of one; a female under the age of ten, three in their teens, one in their twenties, two in their thirties; four in the forties; one in their sixties and two in their seventies.
There were two males under the age of one; one in their teens, three in their twenties; one in their thirties; two in their forties one in their sixties and one in their seventies.
Gallatin County which reported no news cases on Wednesday, reported one case Thursday and that was a female under the age of five.
There were seven new cases in White County including a female in her twenties; two in their thirties; one in their forties and a female in her sixties. There were two males; one in their forties and one in his fifties.
Hamilton County Health Department reported two new cases; a female in her forties and a male in his sixties.
To date; Saline County has had a total of 2,999 lab confirmed positives including 57 deaths.
White County has had a total of 1,999 cases, including 27 deaths and Gallatin County has a total of 574 confirmed positives, including four deaths from Covid 19.
Hamilton County recorded 17 deaths from the virus with 916 lab confirmed cases of Covid.
