CoViD-19 Cases and Vaccinations Update

Ilinois state health officials reported more than 1200 confirmed or probable new CoViD-19 cases Sunday.  The statewide positivity rate has dropped to 2.4% of all tests.  Meanwhile, Kentucky cases are rising.  More than 290 new cases were announced Sunday.  Indiana officials say the state should hit 2.3 million fully vaccinated by the end of the day today.

Over the weekend locally, White County picked up 3 new cases, all males; one in his teens, one in his 20’s and another in his 50’s.  According to data from Egyptian Health Department nearly 3 dozen individuals are still in the recovery phase.

3,734 individuals in White County are fully vaccinated.  That’s good for 27.33%.  More than 62% of the age 65+ population is vaccinated.  The county is averaging about 31 vaccinations per day according to the rolling 7 day average though officials say the pace is slowing dramatically.  Gallatin and Saline County are reporting about 28% of their populations as fully vaccinated.  Wabash is near 29.5%.  A quarter of the Wayne County population is vaccinated.  Hamilton and Edwards Counties are lagging behind with 21 and 23% respectively.  Only 5 of Illinois’ 102 counties are reporting lower percentages of vaccinations than Hamilton, 4 of them are the southern most counties in Hardin, Pope, Pulaski, and Alexander.

So far, women are more likely to get vaccinated than men with more than 57% of those fully vaccinated being women.
