While the Bulldog football team was busy surviving the Eagles in Eldorado Friday night, folks trying to enjoy Corn Day festivities were forced indoors for events. Carmi Kiwanis President Emily Williams moved the pageant to the Carmi White County High School auditorium where a full house turned out to watch youngsters compete for 2023 titles. Junior Miss Corn Day 2023 is Willow Knight. Carly Digman won 1st runner up and Brinkley Moore picked up 2nd runner up. The Baby Miss Corn Day 2023 is Baylee Hargrave and Baby Mr. Corn Day was won by Mello Helwig-Knowles. Holly Hays has been named Little Miss Corn Day 2023. Her court is made up of 1st runner up Scarlett Coston and 2nd runner up Emerson Ritchie. The Toddler division was won by Bentlee Acord. She was followed by 1st runner up Macilynn Gibbons, and 2nd runner up Krymson Bell. Tiny Miss Corn Day is won by Lenna Hutchcraft. Baylor Bell was named 1st runner up and Olivia Thomason won 2nd runner up.
The Corn Hole tournament and Clean Comedy Collective also had to take shelter at the Carmi VFW. Levi Warren and Andy Nelson won third place. For the third time, Steve and Willie Browning took the top honor after besting second place winners Matt and Melinda Burnett.
