Constitution Week 2023
This past Sunday, Sept. 17, 2023 marked the anniversary of the drafting of the United States Constitution by the Constitutional Convention.
It is fitting and proper to officially recognize this document and the anniversary of its creation and whereas Public Law 915 guarantees the issuing of a yearly proclamation by the President of the United States designating September 17th through the 23rd as Constitution Week.
With that in mind, carmi Mayor Jeff Pollard officially proclaimed this week Constitution Week in Carmi by asking citizens to reaffirm the ideals the “framers” had in 1787.
Pollard officially signed the proclamation this week as Secretary Cindy Conley and Regent Stephanie Dennis of the Wabash Chapter of the Daughters of the Revolution witnessed the signing.
