Confirmed: Wabash Christian’s Skilled Nursing Facility Sold to WLC Management

It’s confirmed.  Wabash Christian Village has sold.  Christian Horizons, through a press release received Thursday morning by WROY/WRUL News, confirmed they have sold the Wabash Christian Village-Skilled Nursing Program.  The date of transfer will be effective December 1st.  That’s the date WLC Management will take over.  Kate Bertram, Christian Horizons President and CEO says the decision to sell was difficult.  She’d go on to say that in response to their strategic plan to contract, the services provided to grow into the needs of the next generation were a key aspect in the decision.

Sandra Bryant, Executive Director, added “It has been a pleasure to serve as the Executive Director at Wabash Christian Village for nearly 21 years.  Words can’t express the deep gratitude I have for the support Carmi and the surrounding counties have shown WCV.”

WROY/WRUL News has also obtained letters to both employees and families of residents at Wabash Christian Village.  The sale doesn’t include Wabash Christian Supportive Living, Heritage Apartments, or Wabash Christian Therapy which will remain a part of the Christian Horizons community.  Bryant will also remain with Christian Horizons in a Regional Director of Operations role.  The new Nursing Home administrator will be Melissa Webb who began her employment at Wabash Christian Village in 2013 as a CAN and then moved into the social service department.

WLC Management has ensured the continued employment of all WCV-Skilled Nursing associates and will be working with those employees for the transition process this week.

The letter to families states that in both long-term care, short term rehabilitation, and the Garden Homes, residents will maintain residency and no changes are anticipated in the associates who provide care and services.

All three releases obtained by WROY/WRUL are available in full below:
