A Carmi woman has been sentenced to the Illinois Department of Corrections for Possession of Methamphetamine, which is a class 3 Felony. Kelsie M Collard, 29, had previously been placed on probation in October of 2019. She was originally arrested by the Grayville Police Department. Her probation was revoked in January of 2022 with a sentencing hearing set on May 16, 2022. The hearing was recessed to allow Collard to again attempt to attend inpatient treatment however she failed to do so. During the hearing yesterday, Judge T Scott Webb sentenced Collard to four years in the IDOC following the presentation of evidence and arguments by counsel. Public Defender Brian Shinkle represented Collard. State’s Attorney Denton Aud prosecuted the case.
