Coleman Tri-County Making a Difference for Families and Individuals Throughout Region

Coleman Tri-County Services is a non profit primarily serving residents in Gallatin, Saline, and White Counties, but also providing specific programming in 31 counties especially for individuals with disabilities.  Billy Lewis with CTS says in total the organization offers 10 programs and services not counting two resale shops in Saline County.  Fran and Friends in Harrisburg and Mary Ellen’s in Eldorado both serve the community as well as work sites for clients.

The job placement program places individuals with any disability into a job throughout the region.  Lewis says of 25 clients, 7 are currently working.  In home or residential respite is another program, specifically for individuals and families not in a group setting.  Lewis elaborates…

“It provides staff who can provide supervision, transportation, future planning, case management, life skills training, family education, referrals, follow up to other needed services, recreation, personal assistance, and behavior modification for our clients and families.  There are currently about 18 individuals and families we’re providing services for.  A small grant is how we keep this program running.  On average we provide around 170 – 250 hours per month of care to families.”

CTS also offers a CILA (Community Integrated Living Arrangement) home in Carmi known as Liz’s House.  You can learn much more about the programs and services offered at Coleman Tri-County by visiting http://www.colemantricounty.org.
