City of Grayville to Hold Public Hearing and Special City Council Meeting Monday Night

PUBLIC HEARING NOTICE

The City of Grayville will hold a public hearing on July 20, 2020 at 6:45 P.M. Due to the COVID-19 guidelines, attendance is limited to under 50 persons or 50% capacity of the City of Grayville City Council Chambers. In the event a member of the public wishes to address the public hearing attendees, and the room is at capacity, they will be asked to wait outside of the council chambers and a member of the city council will bring in one person at a time. Additionally, the public hearing will be accessible via Facebook live at https://www.facebook.com/cityofgrayville/. Click on the live video. A member of the Grayville City Council will accept questions and comments from the Facebook Live format and it will be entered into the official record of the public hearing proceedings. Persons with disabilities or non-English speaking persons who wish to attend the public hearing and need assistance should contact JoEllen Seil, City of Grayville Clerk, 122 South Court Street, Grayville, IL 62844, 618-375-3671 no later than July 17, 2020. Every effort will be made to make reasonable accommodations for these persons.

On or about July 22, 2020, the City of Grayville intends to apply to the Illinois Department of Commerce and Economic Opportunity for a grant from the State CDBG program. This program is funded by Title 1 of the federal Housing and Community Development Act of 1974, as amended. These funds are to be used to provide working capital for the benefit of Sid’s Well Service. The total amount of CDBG funds to be requested is 25,000.00 and will address the urgent needs of the business due to the COVID-19 emergency.

Information related to this application will be available for review prior to the public hearing as of July 8, 2020 at the Grayville City Hall between the hours of 7:30 A.M. – 4:00 P.M. Interested citizens are invited to provide comments regarding these issues either at the public hearing or by prior written statement. Written comments should be submitted to Mayor Travis Thompson, City of Grayville, 122 South Court, Grayville, IL no later than June 15, 2020 to ensure placement of such comments in the official record of the public hearing proceedings. This project will result in no displacement of any persons or businesses. The Public Hearing will be immediately followed by a Special City Council Meeting. Council members will discuss and/or take action on Resolutions Pertaining to the Downstate Stabilization Grant, the Downstate Stabilization Grant Participation Agreement, a request for TIF # 1 and Revolving Loan Funds for purchase of Driving Range Plus, and the 2020 Motor Fuel Tax Program.
