A White County man is being held in the without bond after he made a call to 911 to report a shooting incident in Carmi which turned out to be a fake call. On Thursday evening an Officer with the Carmi Police Department arrested 44 year old Billy Joe Cheek of West Drive in Carmi for placing the fake 911 call. Cheek made a call claiming a shooting had taken place in the area of Foley and West Drive. Cheek was taken into custody in front of the White County Jail for Disorderly Conduct.
No court date has been set at this time.
