Charley Buchanan
Randall Flowers

A Carmi woman and a Maunie man are jailed following their arrest in the 700 block of 6th Street Tuesday afternoon.  It was just before 2pm when officers pulled over the pair.  The driver, 38 year old Randall Flowers is charged with Driving While License Revoked and Unlawful Display of a License Plate not Authorized for that Vehicle.  Flowers also faces drug charges and he was wanted on a White County warrant for Reckless Conduct and a previous Driving While License Revoked.  The drug charges consist of Possession of a Controlled Substance and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia.  Officers found K-2 in the vehicle.  The passenger in the vehicle, 30 year old Charley Buchanan of Morgan Street in Carmi was also charged with Possession of a Controlled Substance, Unlawful Use of Property, and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia.  In a sign of just how bad drugs can be for you, police say Buchanan subsequently tried to pin ownership of the K-2, which was found in a metal tin, on her 5 year old daughter.  According to the report, Buchanan allegedly had the little girl tell officers that the K-2 was her cut lawn grass that she plays with.  An additional container of K-2 was found in Buchanan’s pocket along with a couple one-hitter pipes with burnt residue, say police.
