48-year-old Donald Stover of Cherry Street in Carmi is behind bars at the White County Jail following his arrest Wednesday morning. It was just after 8am when Carmi Police placed Stover under arrest and charged him with Domestic Battery. The alleged crime was witnessed by a 65 year old according to the report. Stover is due in court Thursday morning on a Failure to Appear related to a Disorderly Conduct and Criminal Damage to Property charges that allegedly happened in January and February of this year.
Norris City resident Raymond Baker, aged 57, is behind bars after White County Sheriff’s deputies placed him under arrest Wednesday afternoon. Baker answered the front door of an Orchard Street residence where officers told him he had a Failure to Appear warrant. The report indicates Baker told law enforcement he didn’t remember receiving a court date. In May of this year, Baker was charged with a litany of charges including Aggravated Battery with the Use of a Deadly Weapon, Threatening a Public Official, Criminal Damage of Government Property, Theft, and Resisting a Peace Officer. He was ordered into Anger Management, given a Stayed Jail Sentence and 2 years of Conditional Discharge with three of the charges dismissed in June.
