A traffic stop by Carmi police on Thursday resulted in the arrest of an Enfield woman on drug charges. 39 year old Joyce Julian was stopped on Oak Street just before noon as officers knew she had a revoked license and was wanted on a Jefferson County warrant. Once in custody, officers discovered three bags of methamphetamine and a bag of marijuana in Julian’s purse. She has been charged with driving on a suspended license, possession of meth, possession of less than 2.5 grams of cannabis, and is being held at the White County Jail.
23 year old Daniel G Desper of Carmi was arrested at the White County Courthouse at 12:30pm Thursday on a warrant for failure to appear on a charge of possession of methamphetamine. Desper was taken to the White County Jail where he was processed and released after posting a $500 bond.
A Springfield man was arrested Thursday afternoon after police were called that he would not leave a residence on 7th Street. At 1:16pm, 26 year old Jeremy Ealey was taken into custody on a Tazewell County warrant for failure to appear. Ealey had left the residence before officers arrived and was located on Maple Street. He was taken to the White County Jail and is being held on a $200 bond.
