A White County woman is behind bars on a catalog of charges following her arrest Thursday night. Carmi Police pulled over 46 year old Jena Davis of 4th Street in neighboring Norris City near the intersection of Oak and Sunnybrook just before 9:30pm. She was given citations for Operation of an Uninsured Motor Vehicle and Operation of a Vehicle with a Suspended Registration. More serious charges were also levied as Carmi Police say they found her in possession of methamphetamine resulting in a felony charge. She also faces felony counts of Possession of a Controlled Substance and Unlawful Use of Property. Online court records don’t yet indicate when Davis will be due before a judge. She’s behind bars in the White County Jail on no bond.
Carmi Police also have an Effingham man behind bars. 38 year old Cory Kalber of Effingham was arrested at Rock Bottom in the 5 o’clock hour early Friday morning. Kalber was arrested on misdemeanor charges of Driving while License Suspended or Revoked as well as a charge of Possession of Cannabis in a Motor Vehicle. Kalber remains behind bars as of this morning on $250 bail.
