The Carmi Police Department arrested two Evansville residents following a traffic stop early Wednesday morning.
At 5:38am, officers pulled over 22 year old Devin C Brittain at the intersection of Main and Walnut Streets for speeding, for which he received a ticket. Brittain was taken into custody for driving on a suspended license, and transported to the White County Jail where he posted a $150 bond and was later released.
Brittain’s passenger, 27 year old Ashley L McCleave, was also arrested during the stop. McCleave was found to be in possession of a controlled substance and taken to the Jail, where she remains pending a court hearing.
