50-year-old Dale McLain will be in White County court Monday morning. He was due in court for Pre-Trial Hearing in relation to his June arrest on charges of Attempted Arson, Domestic Violence, and Assault. If he had any thoughts of missing that court date, they were stymied when Carmi Police arrested him just after 2pm Friday. The report indicates he was wanted on a warrant for Aggravated Battery as well. He was held over the weekend and is due before Judge Thomas Dinn at 10am.
Two other Carmi men were arrested over the weekend on Domestic Battery charges in separate incidents. Saturday, it was just after 2pm when police took 27-year-old Jacob Burnett of Church Street into custody at his home where the reported incident took place. The alleged victim is a 23-year-old female and there was also a 44-year-old female witness. Then Sunday, just after 2pm, Carmi Police responded to a 911 call of a Domestic Battery on First Street. Officers arrested 44-year-old Jason Schneider on a charge of Domestic Battery. The victim in this case, according to the report is a 12-year-old male and it was witnessed by a 14-year-old female. Schneider was booked into the White County Jail and held. He’ll have to be seen by a judge before he’s released.
