A Carmi man is out on bond following his arrest on a warrant Wednesday afternoon. Carmi Police stopped David Newman of Sixth Street at the intersection of Main Cross and Cherry just after noon. They found him driving with no valid license and cited him for operation of an uninsured motor vehicle. In addition, officers found him wanted on a Failure to Appear Warrant from a charge back in late 2021. That charge was also for operating an uninsured motor vehicle. Newman was taken into custody and would bond out a couple hours later to $625 cash.
