Carmi Man Arrested on Violation of Order of Protection Warrant

A Carmi man is awaiting a judge Monday morning after turning himself in on a warrant just after 5am.  38-year-old Matthew Sneed of Oak Street gave himself over to Carmi Police on a warrant for 2 counts of Violation of an Order of Protection.  The alleged violations occurred in mid-June.  Sneed was also arrested on an Order of Protection violation back in June of 2022.  Online court records indicate a nolle prosequi or abandonment of intent to prosecute on those 2022 charges.

At least he’ll have a little break about bragging about himself for a little while

This guy needs a hard lesson. From experience, he’s a stalker. I hope the victim gets the justice she deserves.

Very glad that justice was served and the charges were dropped. Pretty bad when you can’t go to a ballgame to watch your daughter play that someone can pop up for no reason and you are supposed to leave. Something’s not right with that . So this time he did get the justice he deserved.

The 2022 charges were dropped. Not the 2023 and 2024 charges.

If only he had followed the Judge’s orders and not spoken to a person protected by an order of protection none of this would have happened. He is responsible for his actions, no one else, and he should be held accountable for them… it’s not everyone else’s fault and enabling the victim mentality is the most unhelpful thing you could do as a family member or friend.

4 charges in 2 years… 🤯 with only one dismissed by the victim due to getting him to sign divorce papers…wow why isn’t this dude locked up?
