27 year old Charles Ray Kerns, of Carmi, was arrested Carmi Police Friday night. Officers responded to 127 Fair Street, in Carmi, around 7:30 PM, on a report of a male displaying knives and threatening to cut people up as well as himself. Upon arrival, it was determined the suspect was Kerns and the victim was his mother. Kerns was arrested and transported to the White County Jail on Domestic Violence related offenses related to Aggravated Assault and Unlawful Use of a Weapon.
