Carmi Lions Meeting Recap

The Lions Club of Carmi called their regular meeting to order at 7pm on Tuesday, October 31, 2023.

After a review of the old business, the President thanked Lion John Bolerjack for bringing homemade donuts to the meeting.

The pancake breakfast supporting We Love White County is this Saturday, November 4, from 7am-10am. The cost of entry is $5 per person for all you can eat. Lion Don Winkleman reminded everyone to turn in their unused tickets and ticket money before the breakfast begins. He was positive about the number of tickets sold already and expects a large turnout. The Lions will not be serving the jail this time around, only those who attend the breakfast.

The Lions received a letter from the Lions Illinois Foundation about the death of former Lions Club Governor Mehring. The Club voted to donate $100 to the Foundation in his honor after a motion by Lion David Campbell.

Lion David Templeton reminded the Club that their pancake breakfast with Santa was slated for Saturday, December 16. Lion Don Winkleman suggested changing the time to 8am-11am, rather than the regular 7am-10am, and the Club voted to do so.

Lion Hailey Winkleman asked if the Club would like to participate in the Lights Parade on November 25 and the Club agreed and voted to do so.

The Club tabled the discussion of renewing their Christmas Lights of Hope donation to see if a letter with renewal information comes.

Lion Don Winkleman reminded everyone that the Club is ringing the bell for the Salvation Army on December 8, and to please sign up if they have not done so already.

The meeting adjourned at 7:22pm.
