Corn Day comes your way on Friday, October 7th and Saturday, October 8th. There’s another great line up planned, among the highlights include the grand parade on Saturday at 4pm and the Kids and Pet Parade on Saturday morning. Part of what makes those events so much fun is the theme giving businesses, organizations, kids and pets an opportunity to decorate their floats, vehicles, etc. This year, the Carmi Kiwanis Club president Larissa Hays wanted to make sure that the community got a chance to submit ideas for a theme. Once that was compiled, the board of directors narrowed the list down and on Thursday, the Kiwanis Club voted.
This year’s winner, “May the Corn be with you”. The theme is a take off the popular line from the franchise “May the force be with you”. Make sure to theme your parade floats and entries in Star Wars this October and stay tuned.
