It’s a future Carmi trivia question. What was the first order made at the Carmi Arby’s. Not since the Taco Factory opened on August 8th, 2016 has Carmi been so anxious for a new business to open. Joe and Kathy Maxey of Carmi pulled up 10 minutes before the new meaty eatery officially opened for business and were prepared to make the first transaction. They knew what they wanted too.
“A Beef and Cheddar double…French Dip and Swiss…and some cheddar fried mac and cheese cheddar bites.”
The Maxeys say they’re fans of Arby’s and happy to have the new choice. Christine Schaefer, the regional Operations Director for Friends Hospitality has been working hard over the last few months to get the store ready and employees trained. The Carmi Chamber of Commerce held a ribbon cutting to welcome the new fast food restaurant just before the doors unlocked Wednesday.
