With all members present and just a few items on the agenda, the Carmi City Council held a short meeting on Tuesday evening. Mayor Jeff Pollard kicked off the meeting asking for approval to seek bids for a mowing service. Pollard said that the city crew will be taking care of a few of the locations from here on out. The mayor was given approval to move forward with seeking bids. Also approved was an ordinance to vacate an alley part of block 1 of Fackney Street for the 404 Seed Station to add playground equipment and fencing. The last item on the agenda to be approved was for the city to purchase a 2011 Bobcat T870 with attachments at the cost of $65,000. The council went into closed session to discuss personnel or property issues before calling the meeting to a close. The Carmi City Council meets on the First and Third Mondays of each month.
