A contingency from the Carmi Chamber descended upon the Carmi Crossings Plaza Thursday morning. It wasn’t a CoViD test they were seeking and it wasn’t chips and salsa they craved however. They were there to officially welcome new member business D. Caleb Hughes and his fresh adventure with Cornerstone Wealth Management. Hughes has been in the financial services industry for the last 11 years and says he’s excited to be a part of Cornerstone.
“Cornerstone was founded with a group of advisors in 2005 as a registered investment advisor group. It’s basically total independence. We don’t make or manufacture products and as a registered investment advisor, we’re always a fiduciary which means we have client’s best interests first. There’s no conflict of interest when recommending different products and solutions.”
So how do you know if you should talk to Caleb and what advice does he have for investors taking into account the current economy and pandemic?
“Someone that’s looking to save for retirement or has a specific financial goal that they’re looking to accomplish whether it’s saving for a college education for their children, preparing for something unexpected, saving for retirement is probably the most common goal people have. I’d just say no matter where or who you’re saving with, the most important part is doing the saving. Sitting down with a professional like myself to determine how much you should be putting back based on what your goals or objectives are; everybody has a different income, a different net worth, a different desired retirement income, so just sitting down with someone who can tailor a plan for you makes total sense.”
