Cannabis Bust
While medical and recreational marijuana are legal in the State of Illinois there are a number of restrictions governing both medicinal and recreational use of the substance.
One of those restrictions covers the possession and use of pot in a vehicle.
A restriction, Carmi resident, Alison R. Barbre, 41, 701 North Summit Street, failed to adher to Saturday morning.
Barbre was arrested for possession of cannabis in a motor vehicle after she was contacted about being at Burrell’s Woods after closing time.
Barbre was arrested just before 2:30 Saturday morning and remained in custody through Sunday evening when she posted $250 cash bond and a $20 booking fee prior to her release.
