Bulldogs Fall to Reigning State Champs, Lady Bulldogs Fall to State-Ranked Opponent

The Carmi-White County Bulldog baseball team fell at home Thursday afternoon to North Clay by a final score of 5-4 in 8 innings. 

Carmi fell behind early as North Clay scored 3 times in the top of the first. The Bulldogs would answer with 2 in the bottom of the first, but would trail 4-2 until the 4th inning when Mitchel Edwards scored on a sacrifice bunt by Cade Allen, and Zack Roark scored on a sacrifice fly from Merrick Millhorn, tying the game at 4-4. 

Neither team scored in the 5th, 6th, or 7th inning.

The Cardinals scored in the top of the 8th and the Dogs couldn’t answer, losing their second game in two days. 

Caleb Seibers went 3-4 at the plate with a run scored.
Kade Stockton went 1-4 with an RBI.
Cade Allen went 1-2 with an RBI.
Mitchel Edwards & Zack Roark went 1-4 with a run scored.

Carmi falls to 2-3 on the year, they will host Union County, Kentucky on Monday at Eckerle Park.

The CWC Lady Bulldog softball team lost at home to Thursday afternoon to Gibson Southern, the #4 ranked team in Indiana 3A by a final score of 6-4.

The Lady Titans scored 3 times in the top of the 2nd to jump ahead, and Carmi could never get the bats going. Carmi finished the game with only 5 hits, 2 of those coming in the bottom of the 7th inning when the Lady Dogs scored 3 runs. 

Mia Evans, Audrey Upton, Kacee Milligan, Alexa Knight and Addi Elliot recorded base hits in the loss. 

The Lady Bulldogs fall to 2-4 on the year, they will begin conference play on Tuesday when they travel to Hamilton County.
