66 year old Robert Bowles has received a 6 month stayed jail sentence following his arrest earlier this month in Emma Township. According to White County Sheriff Jordan Weiss, Bowles was arrested just before noon on October 13th. He was driving a township dump truck on a suspended license and also had a failure to appear warrant out of White County. Following his arrest, a search of his person revealed a clear plastic bag containing a white powder which would test positive for meth. Bowles was in court on October 16th where charges of Driving on a Suspended License and a felony charge of Unlawful Use of Property were dismissed in exchange for a guilty plea to Possession of Meth. Bowles was given a 6 month stayed jail sentence and 2 years probation. He’s due for a review in January.
