The planned American Red Cross Blood Drive that was scheduled to happen Wednesday afternoon at the Indian Creek Community Center had to be cancelled. Organizer Kimberly Fuqua says she received notice from the American Red Cross District Manager that three of their staff members showed up for work and presented with elevated temperatures. Those workers were sent home as companies across the world are taking every precaution to keep employees and the public healthy. Therefore, the Red Cross didn’t have enough staff for the blood drive. The hope is to reschedule the blood drive for sometime in May. Fuqua expressed her thanks for the public’s willingness to donate and make a difference. It was shaping up to be a great drive as it was reported that all the reserved times had been filled prior to the drive cancellation. Once the event is rescheduled, WROY/WRUL will have make the information public.
