The Carmi-White County Lady Bulldog softball team defeated Mt. Vernon, Illinois on the road Tuesday afternoon by a final score of 13-2.
The Lady Dogs had an explosive 2nd inning, scoring 11 runs, all of which came with 2 outs. Mt. Vernon committed 4 errors in the 2nd inning alone, and base hits by Addi Elliot, Alayna Johnson, Kacee Milligan, Kadie Simmons and Mia Evans helped those runs come across for CWC.
Carmi scored 2 more in the top of the 7th to put the finishing touches on their 2nd win of the year.
On the day,
Elliot went 2-3 on the day.
Johnson went 2-5 at the plate with 4 RBI including a two-run homer.
Milligan went 2-4.
Simmons went 2-4 with an RBI.
Evans went 2-4 with 2 RBI.
Mara Serafini also picked up a base hit in the win.
On the mound, Audrey Upton pitched just 2 innings, allowing 1 hit while striking out two batters.
Kadie Simmons came in for relief, she struck out 6 hitters in 5 innings of work.
The Lady Bulldogs will be back in action Wednesday as they host Woodlawn at Archie Brown Field.
