A traffic stop on Monday evening resulted in the arrest of a McLeansboro man. Deputy Simmons with the White County Sheriff’s Department was on routine patrol heading eastbound on Oak Street when a vehicle pulled out of Conger Avenue in the westbound lane, causing Simmons to hit his brakes to prevent him from hitting the vehicle. Simmons initiated a traffic stop and identified the driver as 53 year old Jim Dwayne Bell. Simmons explained the reason for the stop and when asked for his ID, Bell advised the Deputy that he didn’t have a valid driver’s license. After confirming his ID with dispatch, Bell was placed under arrest for Driving While License Revoked. Bell was booked in the White County Jail on $250 bond and also cited for Failure to Yield and Driving While License Revoked. Bell bonded out about an hour later.
Don’s Bumper to Bumper was called to tow the vehicle from the scene.
