Bartlett Caught Driving On Suspended License

A Carmi man that decided to drive without a license gets to pay a fine and visit the White County Courthouse. On Friday, October 22nd at approximately 8:57 pm, an Officer with the White County Sheriff’s Department observed a gold Monte Carlo pulling of the Huck’s parking lot. The windshield on the car was smashed directly in the driver’s line of sight. The Officer then initiated a traffic stop on Oak Street on Arkansas plate number AAE11. The driver pulled over on Oak Street at Tenth Street.

The Officer then approached the vehicle and told the driver the reason for the stop. He then asked the driver for his driver’s license and insurance. The driver was 33 year old Oscar C Bartlett of 608 N Ninth Street in Carmi. The Officer then ran the Arkansas driver’s license through Dispatch who informed the Office that his license is suspended.

At that point another Officer arrived to assist and Bartlett was placed under arrest. A search of Bartlett’s pockets were completed before being placed in the squad car. The Officer then wrote a citation for Driving While License Suspended then had the 1999 Chevrolet Monte Carlo towed from the scene.

Bartlett was released with a Notice to Appear citation and a copy of the tow sheet and Impound Ordinance Information Form.
