Bailey Behind Bars Following Arrest Early Friday Morning

A Carmi man is back behind bars on new charges following his arrest early Friday morning.  It was about 12:15am when Carmi Police pulled over a vehicle a Burrell and Gilpin.  Law enforcement would subsequently place 23-year-old Christopher Bailey under arrest on charges of Possession of Methamphetamine, Possession of a Controlled Substance, and Unlawful Use of Property.  Bailey was arrested back in June for allegedly Driving on a Revoked License and Failing to Notify after Damaging an Unattended Vehicle.  He was in court for a first appearance on those charges mid July and is due for arraignment on August 14^th.  His new charges are all felony counts and he’s being held at the White County Jail.  The driver of the vehicle in Friday morning’s traffic stop was 22-year-old Cory Bailey of Carlyle.  He was cited for Operation of an Uninsured Motor Vehicle and given a verbal warning after cops say he was driving without his headlights on.  The younger Bailey was also arrested back in June and charged with Fleeing/Attempting to Elude a Peace Officer.  He’s due in White County Court on August 27^th for a first appearance on that charge.
