The Carmi League of Arts sponsored a free music concert on Sunday at the Gazebo by the Carmi Public Library. This is the second event as part of this year’s “Night Under the Stars” series of outdoor concerts, following last week’s successful Gospel Sing.
The Kyilindi Pipes & Drum Band donated their time and talent for a unique celebration of Great Highland Bagpipes and Scottish style drumming. The park was filled with eager concert goers enjoying the great weather and unique listening experience, interspersed with background information about the music and history of the bagpipes.
The celebration of the 50th continues this Sunday evening at 7pm! The League is sponsoring one more free concert at the gazebo by the Carmi Public Library featuring vocal performances of songs from League history. More information is on the League’s Facebook page.
Lastly, don’t forget that the League is currently fundraising as part of their Curtains Up! initiative for the 50th. All proceeds from concessions or merchandise at League events this year will go toward helping replace the curtains in the CWCHS Auditorium! We will have stickers and commemorative lapel pins at all events.
