The Edwards County Spelling Bee was held Wednesday evening at the Edwards County courthouse.
The participants in this year’s competition were: J.D. Harrison; Avery Sweeney; Bree Peach; Alice Robb; Danika Phillips; Kami Keener; Meado Miller; and Brianna Swartzbaugh.
The winner of this year’s Edwards County Spelling Bee was Avery Sweeney. Avery correctly spelled the winning word “Scandanavia” in the 19th round. Runner-up was Bree Peach, third place went to Alice Robb. All three winners are students of Edwards County. This was the second consecutive year that Avery Sweeney won the competition.
