The Carmi Police Department is investigating an Attempted Burglary of the ATM at Carmi Banterra Bank. At approximately 1:11 a.m. the Carmi PD was notified that there was a theft at Banterra Bank on W Main Street. Carmi PD arrived on scene and observed a truck with a chain hooked to it and the overturned ATM. The ATM was pulled over onto the parking lot and damaged. No contents were taken from the machine. Chief Jason Carter says the truck used in the Attempted Burglary has been stolen.
This investigation is being led by the Carmi Police Department and is ongoing.
