Assistant District Governor visits Carmi Rotary Thursday

The Carmi Rotary club welcomed assistant district governor Janice Alka to the Thursday meeting, as Janice made the trip from her home club in Mt. Carmel.

Janice spent a few minutes with the Rotarians, explaining the inner workings of the Rotary district and the Rotary International websites. She urged the Carmi Rotarians to get comfortable using the web, since Rotary is trying to become a paperless organization in the next few years.

After Janice was finished, club president Tom Logan took the floor and reminded the Rotarians about the next big fundraiser. Friday, November 20th, the Carmi club will be hosting a chili supper at the American Legion on Oak Street. They will be serving chili and all the fixin’s from five until seven. The cost per ticket is only six dollars, and tickets can be purchased at the door or from any Carmi Rotarian.

The Carmi Rotary club meets every Thursday at noon at the First United Methodist Church in Carmi. Anyone wishing to learn more about this worldwide civic club is more than welcome to attend a meeting or speak with any Carmi Rotarian.
