As the increase in COVID-19 cases in the Grayville community resulted in recent action by the Grayville City Council to grant executive powers to Mayor Travis Thompson, Mayor Thompson would like to assure the Grayville Community the safety of its residents is his top priority. Because of the rapidly changing climate with regard to new cases in the community, Grayville Mayor Travis Thompson said “At present, my only intent is to further protect the health and safety of Grayville residents by preventing large gatherings of 50 or more on city-owned property where social distancing cannot be guaranteed or controlled.”
The City of Grayville will assist with keeping its residents informed as new information is released concerning COVID-19, and public safety issues. The Grayville City Council will re-visit the large gathering order each and every city council meeting until it is lifted.
