Paul James and his daughter Courtney James were detained on Thursday for Domestic Battery.
According to a report, Courtney threw a soda can at the face of her brother, Shane Workman. Paul then shoved and punched Shane in the face, which resulted in injuries.
Shane did not sign a complaint, but Carmi Police placed Courtney and Paul in custody to conduct a further investigation.
