17 New Cases of COVID-19 Reported in Tri-County Area Thursday

Egyptian Health Department was notified on October 1, 2020, of seventeen Southeastern Illinois residents who have tested positive for Coronavirus (COVID-19). The individuals include:

• Saline County
  • a male, under the age of 5, at home and in isolation
  • a male, in his teens, at home and in isolation
  • a male, in his 20’s, at home and in isolation
  • a male, in his 40’s, at home and in isolation
  • a male, in his 40’s, at home and in isolation
  • a female, in her 60’s, at home and in isolation
  • a female, in her 60’s, at home and in isolation
  • a female, in her 60’s, at home and in isolation
  • a male, in his 60’s, at home and in isolation

• Gallatin County
  • a male, under the age of 10, at home and in isolation
• White County
  • a male, in his 20’s, case status in progress
  • a female, in her 50’s, case status in progress
  • a female, in her 60’s, case status in progress
  • a male, in his 60’s, case status in progress
  • a female, in her 70’s, at home and in isolation
  • a female, in her 80’s, at home and in isolation
  • a male, in his 80’s, at home and in isolation

To date, Saline County has had a total of 377 lab confirmed positives, including 4 deaths, White County has had a total of 184 lab-confirmed positives and 1 death, and Gallatin County has a total of 80 lab-confirmed positives of COVID-19, including 2 deaths. The Illinois Department of Public Health, their healthcare provider, and the individuals have all been notified and are monitoring the situation.

*Case status in progress means that Contact Tracers are currently making contact with the COVID-19 positive case to determine where the individual is located (ie: at home or hospitalized).
