White County States Attorney Denton Aud announced that 21 year old Jacob Holland of Carmi was sentenced in White County Court on Monday.
Holland will serve eight years in prison for a pair of assaults that occurred in Carmi on August 1st and 2nd. The August 2nd incident was the stabbing that took place in Bradshaw Park. Holland earlier pled guilty to two counts of aggravated battery, and was found to be eligible for the extended sentence because of previous convictions. Under the law, Holland was also eligible for probation. Following his incarceration, Holland will be under court supervision for one year.
The sentence was handed down by Judge T Scott Webb. Holland was represented by attorney Brian Shinkle.
